تَنزِيلٌۭ A revelation tanzīlun from mina the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
[This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful -
كِتَـٰبٌۭ A Book kitābun are detailed fuṣṣilat its Verses āyātuhu a Quran qur'ānan (in) Arabic ʿarabiyyan for a people liqawmin (who) know yaʿlamūna
A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur’ān1 for a people who know,
بَشِيرًۭا A giver of glad tidings bashīran and a warner wanadhīran but turn away fa-aʿraḍa most of them aktharuhum so they fahum (do) not lā hear yasmaʿūna
As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear.
وَقَالُوا۟ And they say waqālū Our hearts qulūbunā (are) in fī coverings akinnatin from what mimmā you call us tadʿūnā to it ilayhi and in wafī our ears ādhāninā (is) deafness waqrun and between us wamin and between us bayninā and between you wabaynika (is) a screen ḥijābun So work fa-iʿ'mal indeed, we innanā (are) working ʿāmilūna
And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work;1 indeed, we are working."
قُلْ Say qul Only innamā I am anā a man basharun like you mith'lukum it is revealed yūḥā to me ilayya that annamā your god ilāhukum (is) God ilāhun One wāḥidun so take a Straight Path fa-is'taqīmū to Him ilayhi and ask His forgiveness wa-is'taghfirūhu And woe wawaylun to the polytheists lil'mush'rikīna
Say, [O Muḥammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allāh
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna (do) not lā give yu'tūna the zakah l-zakata and they wahum in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati they hum (are) disbelievers kāfirūna
Those who do not give zakāh, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna believe āmanū and do waʿamilū righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti for them lahum (is) a reward ajrun never ending ghayru never ending mamnūnin
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted.
۞ قُلْ Say qul Do you indeed a-innakum [surely] disbelieve latakfurūna in the One Who bi-alladhī created khalaqa the earth l-arḍa in fī two periods yawmayni and you set up watajʿalūna with Him lahu rivals andādan That dhālika (is the) Lord rabbu (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."
وَجَعَلَ And He placed wajaʿala therein fīhā firmly-set mountains rawāsiya above it min above it fawqihā and He blessed wabāraka therein fīhā and determined waqaddara therein fīhā its sustenance aqwātahā in fī four arbaʿati periods ayyāmin equal sawāan for those who ask lilssāilīna
And He placed on it [i.e., the earth] firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction1 - for [the information of] those who ask.
ثُمَّ Then thumma He directed (Himself) is'tawā towards ilā the heaven l-samāi while it (was) wahiya smoke dukhānun and He said faqāla to it lahā and to the earth walil'arḍi Come both of you i'tiyā willingly ṭawʿan or aw unwillingly karhan They both said qālatā We come ataynā willingly ṭāiʿīna
Then He directed Himself1 to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being],2 willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."
فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ Then He completed them faqaḍāhunna (as) seven sabʿa heavens samāwātin in fī two periods yawmayni and He revealed wa-awḥā in fī each kulli heaven samāin its affair amrahā And We adorned wazayyannā the heaven l-samāa [the world] l-dun'yā with lamps bimaṣābīḥa and (to) guard waḥif'ẓan That dhālika (is the) Decree taqdīru (of) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi the All-Knower l-ʿalīmi
And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired [i.e., made known] in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars, for beauty] and as protection.1 That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
فَإِنْ But if fa-in they turn away aʿraḍū then say faqul I have warned you andhartukum (of) a thunderbolt ṣāʿiqatan like mith'la (the) thunderbolt ṣāʿiqati (of) Aad ʿādin and Thamud wathamūda
But if they turn away, then say, "I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] ʿAad and Thamūd.
إِذْ When idh came to them jāathumu the Messengers l-rusulu from before them min from before them bayni from before them aydīhim and from wamin behind them khalfihim (saying) "Do not allā worship taʿbudū except illā Allah l-laha They said qālū If law (had) willed shāa our Lord rabbunā surely, He (would have) sent down la-anzala Angels malāikatan So indeed, we fa-innā in what bimā you have been sent ur'sil'tum with bihi (are) disbelievers kāfirūna
[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allāh." They said, "If our Lord had willed,1 He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers."
فَأَمَّا Then as for fa-ammā Aad ʿādun they were arrogant fa-is'takbarū in fī the land l-arḍi without bighayri [the] right l-ḥaqi and they said waqālū Who man (is) mightier ashaddu than us minnā (in) strength quwwatan Do not awalam they see yaraw that anna Allah l-laha the One Who alladhī created them khalaqahum He huwa (is) Mightier ashaddu than them min'hum (in) strength quwwatan But they used to wakānū in Our Signs biāyātinā deny yajḥadūna
As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allāh who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
فَأَرْسَلْنَا So We sent fa-arsalnā upon them ʿalayhim a wind rīḥan furious ṣarṣaran in fī (the) days ayyāmin (of) misfortune naḥisātin that We may make them taste linudhīqahum (the) punishment ʿadhāba (of) disgrace l-khiz'yi in fī the life l-ḥayati (of) the world l-dun'yā And surely, (the) punishment walaʿadhābu (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati (is) more disgracing akhzā and they wahum will not be helped lā will not be helped yunṣarūna
So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.
وَأَمَّا And as for wa-ammā Thamud thamūdu We guided them fahadaynāhum but they preferred fa-is'taḥabbū [the] blindness l-ʿamā over ʿalā the guidance l-hudā so seized them fa-akhadhathum a thunderbolt ṣāʿiqatu (of) the punishment l-ʿadhābi humiliating l-hūni for what bimā they used to kānū earn yaksibūna
And as for Thamūd, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.
وَنَجَّيْنَا And We saved wanajjaynā those who alladhīna believed āmanū and used to wakānū fear (Allah) yattaqūna
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma will be gathered yuḥ'sharu (the) enemies aʿdāu (of) Allah l-lahi to ilā the Fire l-nāri then they fahum will be assembled in rows yūzaʿūna
And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day when the enemies of Allāh will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven], assembled in rows,
حَتَّىٰٓ Until ḥattā when idhā when mā they come to it jāūhā (will) testify shahida against them ʿalayhim their hearing samʿuhum and their sight wa-abṣāruhum and their skins wajulūduhum (as) to what bimā they used to kānū do yaʿmalūna
Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do.
وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say waqālū to their skins lijulūdihim Why do lima you testify shahidttum against us ʿalaynā They will say qālū Allah made us speak anṭaqanā Allah made us speak l-lahu the One Who alladhī makes speak anṭaqa every kulla thing shayin and He wahuwa created you khalaqakum (the) first awwala time marratin and to Him wa-ilayhi you will be returned tur'jaʿūna
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allāh, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
وَمَا And not wamā you were kuntum covering yourselves tastatirūna lest an testify yashhada against you ʿalaykum your hearing samʿukum and not walā your sight abṣārukum and not walā your skins julūdukum but walākin you assumed ẓanantum that anna Allah l-laha (does) not lā know yaʿlamu much kathīran of what mimmā you do taʿmalūna
And you were not covering [i.e., protecting] yourselves,1 lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allāh does not know much of what you do.
وَذَٰلِكُمْ And that wadhālikum (was) your assumption ẓannukumu which alladhī you assumed ẓanantum about your Lord birabbikum It has ruined you ardākum and you have become fa-aṣbaḥtum of mina the losers l-khāsirīna
And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers."
فَإِن Then if fa-in they endure yaṣbirū the Fire fal-nāru (is) an abode mathwan for them lahum and if wa-in they ask for favor yastaʿtibū then not famā they hum (will be) of mina those who receive favor l-muʿ'tabīna
So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allāh], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease.
۞ وَقَيَّضْنَا And We have destined waqayyaḍnā for them lahum companions quranāa (who) made fair-seeming fazayyanū to them lahum what mā (was) before them bayna (was) before them aydīhim and what wamā (was) behind them khalfahum and (is) justified waḥaqqa against them ʿalayhimu the Word l-qawlu among fī nations umamin (that have) passed away qad (that have) passed away khalat before them min before them qablihim of mina the jinn l-jini and the men wal-insi Indeed, they innahum were kānū losers khāsirīna
And We appointed for them companions1 who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
وَقَالَ And said waqāla those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū (Do) not lā listen tasmaʿū to this lihādhā Quran l-qur'āni and make noise wal-ghaw therein fīhi so that you may laʿallakum overcome taghlibūna
And those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur’ān and speak noisily1 during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome."
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ But surely We will cause to taste falanudhīqanna those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū a punishment ʿadhāban severe shadīdan and surely We will recompense them walanajziyannahum (the) worst aswa-a (of) what alladhī they used to kānū do yaʿmalūna
But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika (is the) recompense jazāu (of the) enemies aʿdāi (of) Allah l-lahi the Fire l-nāru for them lahum therein fīhā (is the) home dāru (of) the eternity l-khul'di (as) recompense jazāan for what bimā they used to kānū of Our Verses biāyātinā reject yajḥadūna
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allāh - the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting.
وَقَالَ And (will) say waqāla those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū Our Lord rabbanā Show us arinā those who alladhayni misled us aḍallānā of mina the jinn l-jini and the men wal-insi (so) we may put them najʿalhumā under taḥta our feet aqdāminā that they be liyakūnā of mina the lowest l-asfalīna
And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet1 that they will be among the lowest."
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna say qālū Our Lord rabbunā (is) Allah l-lahu then thumma stand firm is'taqāmū will descend tatanazzalu on them ʿalayhimu the Angels l-malāikatu (Do) not allā fear takhāfū and (do) not walā grieve taḥzanū but receive the glad tidings wa-abshirū of Paradise bil-janati which allatī you were kuntum promised tūʿadūna
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
نَحْنُ We naḥnu (are) your protectors awliyāukum in fī the life l-ḥayati (of) the world l-dun'yā and in wafī the Hereafter l-ākhirati And for you walakum therein fīhā whatever mā desire tashtahī your souls anfusukum and for you walakum therein fīhā what mā you ask taddaʿūna
We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]
نُزُلًۭا A hospitable gift nuzulan from min (the) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrin (the) Most Merciful raḥīmin
As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful."
وَمَنْ And who waman (is) better aḥsanu (in) speech qawlan than (one) who mimman invites daʿā to ilā Allah l-lahi and does waʿamila righteous (deeds) ṣāliḥan and says waqāla Indeed, I am innanī of mina those who submit l-mus'limīna
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allāh and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."
وَلَا And not walā (are) equal tastawī the good (deed) l-ḥasanatu and walā the evil (deed) l-sayi-atu Repel id'faʿ by (that) which bi-allatī [it] hiya (is) better aḥsanu then behold fa-idhā One who alladhī between you baynaka and between him wabaynahu (was) enmity ʿadāwatun (will become) as if he ka-annahu (was) a friend waliyyun intimate ḥamīmun
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
وَمَا And not wamā it is granted yulaqqāhā except illā (to) those who alladhīna (are) patient ṣabarū and not wamā it is granted yulaqqāhā except illā (to the) owner dhū (of) fortune ḥaẓẓin great ʿaẓīmin
But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].
وَإِمَّا And if wa-immā whisper comes to you yanzaghannaka from mina the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni an evil suggestion nazghun then seek refuge fa-is'taʿidh in Allah bil-lahi Indeed, He innahu [He] huwa (is) the All-Hearer l-samīʿu the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu
And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
وَمِنْ And of wamin His Signs āyātihi (are) the night al-laylu and the day wal-nahāru and the sun wal-shamsu and the moon wal-qamaru (Do) not lā prostrate tasjudū to the sun lilshamsi and not walā to the moon lil'qamari but prostrate wa-us'judū to Allah lillahi the One Who alladhī created them khalaqahunna if in you kuntum Him alone iyyāhu worship taʿbudūna
And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.1
فَإِنِ But if fa-ini they are arrogant is'takbarū then those who fa-alladhīna (are) near ʿinda your Lord rabbika glorify yusabbiḥūna Him lahu by night bi-al-layli and day wal-nahāri And they wahum (do) not lā tire yasamūna
But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord [i.e., the angels] exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary.
وَمِنْ And among wamin His Signs āyātihi (is) that you annaka see tarā the earth l-arḍa barren khāshiʿatan but when fa-idhā We send down anzalnā upon it ʿalayhā water l-māa it is stirred (to life) ih'tazzat and grows warabat Indeed inna the One Who alladhī gives it life aḥyāhā (is) surely the Giver of life lamuḥ'yī (to) the dead l-mawtā Indeed, He innahu (is) on ʿalā every kulli thing shayin All-Powerful qadīrun
And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna distort yul'ḥidūna [in] fī Our Verses āyātinā (are) not lā hidden yakhfawna from Us ʿalaynā So, is (he) who afaman is cast yul'qā in fī the Fire l-nāri better khayrun or am (he) who man comes yatī secure āminan (on the) Day yawma (of) Resurrection l-qiyāmati Do iʿ'malū what mā you will shi'tum Indeed, He innahu of what bimā you do taʿmalūna (is) All-Seer baṣīrun
Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses1 are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū in the Reminder bil-dhik'ri when lammā it comes to them jāahum And indeed, it wa-innahu (is) surely a Book lakitābun mighty ʿazīzun
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message [i.e., the Qur’ān]1 after it has come to them...2 And indeed, it is a mighty3 Book.
لَّا Not lā comes to it yatīhi the falsehood l-bāṭilu from min before it bayni before it yadayhi and not walā from min behind it khalfihi A Revelation tanzīlun from min (the) All-Wise ḥakīmin (the) Praiseworthy ḥamīdin
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.
مَّا Not mā is said yuqālu to you laka except illā what mā was said qad was said qīla to the Messengers lilrrusuli before you min before you qablika Indeed inna your Lord rabbaka (is) Possessor ladhū (of) forgiveness maghfiratin and Possessor wadhū (of) penalty ʿiqābin painful alīmin
Nothing is said to you, [O Muḥammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty.
وَلَوْ And if walaw We (had) made it jaʿalnāhu a Quran qur'ānan (in) a foreign (language) aʿjamiyyan they (would have) said laqālū Why not lawlā are explained in detail fuṣṣilat its verses āyātuhu (Is it) a foreign (language) āʿ'jamiyyun and an Arab waʿarabiyyun Say qul It (is) huwa for those who lilladhīna believe āmanū a guidance hudan and a healing washifāon And those who wa-alladhīna (do) not lā believe yu'minūna in fī their ears ādhānihim (is) deafness waqrun and it wahuwa (is) for them ʿalayhim blindness ʿaman Those ulāika are being called yunādawna from min a place makānin far baʿīdin
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.1
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We gave ātaynā Musa mūsā the Book l-kitāba but disputes arose fa-ukh'tulifa therein fīhi And had it not been walawlā (for) a word kalimatun (that) preceded sabaqat from min your Lord rabbika surely, would have been settled laquḍiya between them baynahum But indeed, they wa-innahum surely (are) in lafī doubt shakkin about it min'hu disquieting murībin
And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement.1 And if not for a word [i.e., decree]2 that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.
مَّنْ Whoever man does ʿamila righteous deeds ṣāliḥan then it is for his soul falinafsihi and whoever waman does evil asāa then it is against it faʿalayhā And not wamā (is) your Lord rabbuka unjust biẓallāmin to His slaves lil'ʿabīdi
Whoever does righteousness - it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants.
۞ إِلَيْهِ To Him ilayhi is referred yuraddu (the) knowledge ʿil'mu (of) the Hour l-sāʿati And not wamā comes out takhruju any min fruits thamarātin from min their coverings akmāmihā and not wamā bears taḥmilu any min female unthā and not walā gives birth taḍaʿu except illā with His knowledge biʿil'mihi And (the) Day wayawma He will call them yunādīhim Where (are) ayna My partners shurakāī They will say qālū We announce (to) You ādhannāka not mā among us minnā any min witness shahīdin
To Him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."
وَضَلَّ And lost waḍalla from them ʿanhum what mā they were kānū invoking yadʿūna before min before qablu and they (will) be certain waẓannū (that) not mā for them lahum any min place of escape maḥīṣin
And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape.
لَّا (Does) not lā get tired yasamu man l-insānu of min praying duʿāi (for) the good l-khayri but if wa-in touches him massahu the evil l-sharu then he gives up hope fayaūsun (and) despairs qanūṭun
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
وَلَئِنْ And verily, if wala-in We let him taste adhaqnāhu mercy raḥmatan from Us minnā after min after baʿdi an adversity ḍarrāa (has) touched him massathu he will surely say layaqūlanna This (is) hādhā (due) to me lī and not wamā I think aẓunnu the Hour l-sāʿata (will be) established qāimatan and if wala-in I am returned rujiʿ'tu to ilā my Lord rabbī indeed inna for me lī with Him ʿindahu (will be) the best lalḥus'nā But We will surely inform falanunabbi-anna those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū about what bimā they did ʿamilū and We will surely make them taste walanudhīqannahum of min a punishment ʿadhābin severe ghalīẓin
And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me,1 and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.
وَإِذَآ And when wa-idhā We bestow favor anʿamnā upon ʿalā man l-insāni he turns away aʿraḍa and distances himself wanaā and distances himself bijānibihi but when wa-idhā touches him massahu the evil l-sharu then (he is) full fadhū (of) supplication duʿāin lengthy ʿarīḍin
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication.
قُلْ Say qul You see ara-aytum if in it is kāna from min from ʿindi Allah l-lahi then thumma you disbelieve kafartum in it bihi who man (is) more astray aḍallu than (one) who mimman he huwa (is) in fī opposition shiqāqin far baʿīdin
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?"
سَنُرِيهِمْ Soon We will show them sanurīhim Our Signs āyātinā in fī the horizons l-āfāqi and in wafī themselves anfusihim until ḥattā becomes clear yatabayyana to them lahum that it annahu (is) the truth l-ḥaqu Is (it) not awalam sufficient yakfi concerning your Lord birabbika that He annahu (is) over ʿalā all kulli things shayin a Witness shahīdun
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.1 But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?2
أَلَآ Unquestionably alā they innahum (are) in fī doubt mir'yatin about min (the) meeting liqāi (with) their Lord rabbihim Unquestionably alā indeed, He innahu (is) of all bikulli things shayin encompassing muḥīṭun
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing.
